THURSDAY CHALLENGE: Cold

There's not much that's cold here in LA, but these mountains in the distance are very cold. They make LA look cold too.

There's a story with this photo. Twice a week I drive downtwon to work. As I'm speeding on the freeway, I always see the snow capped mountains and a huge row of palm trees in the distance. It's a great image but I never have my camera with me when I drive to work. Well, one day I decide to go get that shot, but I couldn't remember exactly where I saw it. My work takes me all over the city, and my brain can never keep it straight, so....Anyway, I finally realized it was on the freeway....so I went to get the shot...yes I was driving...but I set the camera on the dash, clicked away and hoped for the best...

Couldn't get the shot I wanted....So I drove around for about an hour, trying to get close to that skyline. There was no place high enough for me to see it...BUMMER! But I wasn't going to give up. I wanted that shot! The very last place I could think of was the parking garage at the Grove. So off I went....and low and behold...I saw the mountains and the palm trees. Granted it's not quite as dramatic as the freeway shot would have been, but I think it looks cool. I like the way the parking structure looks so blue and frames the outside scenery.

I tried, and at least I got something! :)
